I’ve been the one planning our trips for years — around 40 U.S. states, across Europe and Asia, always the one mapping the days. I learned what actually makes a trip flow: where you start each morning, how you get from place to place, how long a stop really takes — whether it’s a solo trip, a couple’s getaway, or a big group.
On every trip I obsess over the same handful of things: a day that actually flows, keeping track of the costs so no one’s doing math at dinner, packing right for where I’m headed, and having a few local phrases ready to get around. That’s exactly what I taught Geoff to do.

- Is Geoff free?
- Joining or viewing a shared trip is free forever, with no account. Building your own trips — the AI day-planner, Ideas, and Ask Geoff — is Geoff Pro: $6.99/month or $39.99/year, with a 7-day free trial.
- Do I need an account to use Geoff?
- No account is required. You can join and use trips with no login at all — your device keeps a private key for trips you create, and anyone can join a trip by opening its link. Accounts are optional: sign in with just your email (a one-time code, no password) if you want to back up your trips and restore them on another phone.
- What happens to my trips if I get a new phone?
- If you created an optional account (just your email), your trips back up automatically — sign in on the new phone and they restore. Without an account, trips you created live on that device, but you can always rejoin any shared trip with its link.
- Can I use Geoff by myself, or is it only for groups?
- Both. Geoff works for a solo trip, a couple's getaway, or a whole group — bringing others along is optional.
- What can Geoff do during the trip?
- Maps of your stops, expense logging and fair splitting in your home currency, a destination-aware packing list, an offline phrasebook with pronunciation, and the local emergency number.
- Does Geoff track my location?
- Only if you turn on 'Share my location.' It's intermittent, trip-scoped, and off by default — Geoff never tracks you in the background.
